Has anyone heard of QuikClot? ( www.quikclot.com )

My husband had this in his first aid kits when he was in the military. Its supposed to take the moisture out of the blood so that it clots faster. Has anyone heard if this would work or is recommended for someone with ITP? I know with someone with normal blood, it stops major bleeding really fast. I'm just not sure if it would help us out?

I'm planning on asking my doctor about it next week, but was just wondering if anyone here knew anything about it first.

I would imagine that it's designed for emergency use and when there is a risk of severe blood loss - it would surely work if any of us had a major laceration, but what else are you hoping for it to do?
