question and asking for advice was created by danie09
i was dianosed in august of 2009 and had tremediously low blood counts all the way down to a single platet and was back and forth to hospital to do ivig treatments which only lasted a few weeks and then was told i was steroid resistant and then my oncologist and myself decided to do a lap spleenectomy bc i was dropping so low and fast and had that done in september of 2009 and i am doing tremediously well!!! counts have stayed consistantlly stable and was told on last doc aptment that i am in remission finally!!! but my major question and need advice on is that a family member was dianosed in 1990 and was in remission for 20 years but just told me today that she feels it might have returned and needs some recommendations on oncologists/hemo in the fort wayne area at lutheren hospital or in that area and was also wondering what types of other treatment options besides predisone(thats the treatment i did along with surgery) but keep in mind that she is also a diabetic. so i am needing some advice from other ITpers out there that might have family members or something or any advice i can relay back to her it would be very appreciated and soooo helpful. thank you for help and advice if u have any.
