Anyone else extremely tired?

Anyone else extremely tired? was created by ggundel86
I am having SERIOUS issues staying awake these days. One day in the recent past few weeks I got home at 5pm and fell asleep at 6pm and woke up at 3am and quickly passed out again.

I feel like I am getting weaker and weaker. I barely even feel like I'm functioning. The doctor is testing and retesting for things. Hepatitis and leukemia were mentioned but my WBC is fine. My pancreatic enzymes are still low and they recently found bilubin in my urine but when they redid the test it was gone...*shrugs*

Anyone else feeling really tired? How do I beat this? I get sleep, I take vitamin D, but I feel like I could just fall over all day long and I have to ask people to repeat things because I feel so confused over the simplest things these days...Mild fevers, exhaustion, and no explanation....

Yes, I am like that quite often. Sooooo groggy and exhausted and more sleep doesn't help. I also go through the weak/shaky periods and can never quite figure out what makes it come or go.

Three suggestions - have you had potassium checked? Have you had ferritin checked? Have you had any recent tests for Lupus?

Hi there,

I had the ANA test done in March and my doctor reordered the test yesterday. I read the symptoms of lupus from a link on on of the message boards and while I have some of the symptoms...I tested negative for ANA the first time. Not sure why he's re-running the test but it's fine...

I don't have a rash on my face but I get rashes on my shoulders and chest from the sun. Flat red spots that my dr cannot identify. I am extremely exhausted and my memory seems to be fading away at times and I get body aches a lot. I have also noticed some blood blisters in my mouth recently. My last pt count was 150 so it wasn't the ITP unless it shot up right before the test which I doubt...I have issues with circulation so if I sit down my feet turn purple and I get mild fevers of 99.5-100 for no reason a couple times a week.

Potassium has bottomed out before to a 3.0 and I collapsed but the ER said I was fine at 3.0 and sent me home. Told me to eat a banana lol.

But I'm thinking those symptoms could be different things going together...

If the doctor has been running tests, they likely have tested your TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) but you can still have symptoms if you have antibodies. See the checklist and if several apply, you might see if they will run a thyroid antibodies test.

Just running the ANA isn't enough. They should also run a SED rate, C3 and C4, dsDNA and Anti-Sm and Anti-Ro.

I have Lupus and have never had any rashes, so you can't go by that. My first symptoms were exhaustion, feeling flu-like and achy. That progressed and things eventually got worse. So did test results.

Thyroid is another good suggestion. Oh, or B-12. Hopefully your doctor is covering all the bases.

Theyve checked my T3, T4, and TSH for my thyroid and my sed rate was a 3..none of those other tests or the B vit test.

I get flu like symptoms about every two weeks and it lasts for a few days so basically every other week I feel awful

Prescription potassium might help some, dietary never raised mine. And that could be a piece of the fatigue.

Well that would make me nervous because my potassium has been normal for awhile though and I heard it can be dangerous to overdo postassium.

Hepatitis tests will come back probably next week (Ive heard it can take 10 days but we'll see)

Waiting on the new ANA test results but probably going to be the same result.

I am on prescription potassium suppliments and i have a blood test every week and get my potassium level checked every week as well to see what the levels are and if i need to stop taking them. I find when my platelets are low, i do tend to get more tired the usual.

yes, I'm always extremly tired. It seems to be my life lately. I always am running on empty. Today is not a good day. I feel out of it. Not dizzy but it's like my mind is running slow and my body just doesn't want to move. I wanna lay down. Though lately I've not been sleeping well cuz I just can't get comfortable even laying down. It's starting to effect my state of mind. I'm not a complainer, but I just can't hardly stand it anymore. I don't know of any special tests my doc is doing. I just saw him last Wednesday though and he said everything looked good and my chemistry was normal. Whatever that means!

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

The flu-like symptoms concern me - sounds just like how I started. It was every few weeks and I'd feel like that for a few days. Hang in there, I know what that's like and there isn't much you can do about it.

Im going to a rheumatologist because the dr says my tests look normal...problem is my grandma was dxed with RA at 26. My aunt seems to have it and we have the same symptoms. THere is also this weird bony like thing on my wrist bone that my grandma says she doesnt think is a gangelion.

I fell asleep at 6pm and now I cant sleep even though I feel EXHAUSTED. I feel like my brain is slow too.

THe dr says maybe its chronic fatigue syndrome...who knows...I just want it to go away! My knees were swollen last night and my ankles were KILLING me...My temps been going up and down...

Sorry for venting...I just dont know what to think anymore...my platelets were even 150! which is awesome..
