Hey guys,

Just curious...is there any connection whatsoever with ITP with any of these:

low amylase
low lipase
low magnesium
low potassium
low vitamin d
high HS CRP
high cortisol
high IgG4 levels
Mono
Fatigue
unexplainable fevers (100-103.5)
Gallbladder disease
body aches and pains
paralysis attacks and dizziness
low blood pressure

Just wondering...because the last time I was at the ER they mentioned my potassium was low and it's been down to a 3 before and they never did anything so I just wondered if any of this could be connected with my other problems?

Many of us have low potassium - mostly it's due to Prednisone use. Mine is always low and I've never been treated until it hit 2.9.

I wouldn't relate any of those things to ITP, except maybe fatigue at low counts. I have low magnesium, B-12, Vitamin D, ferritin, etc, along with many physical symptoms. I chalk those up to Lupus and strange autoimmune occurrances.

I have low Vitamin D too (I'd forgotten that one)...I am starting to wonder if my abdominal pain and stuff is somehow connected to celiacs disease because I just read that gallbladder dysfunction and celiacs can be related as well as celiacs and ITP. My gallbladder slowly stopped working until it came out last year. No stones. Just a 3% Ejection rate on the HIDA scan and they said I needed at least a 35% to be normal.

Who knows...I'm going to see if the doctor can run more anti-body tests. I have had increasing fatigue to the point where I can barely stay awake...I work 7:30am to 4pm and a couple times ive fallen asleep before 7pm and still felt tired the next day. I've had to go home yesterday because I was so tired and shaky and breaking out in cold sweats. It's like a vicious cycle. Usually eating something with a lot of sugar will stop the sick feeling but it didn't work yesterday...

My doctor insists that it must be Familial Mediterrean Fever with ITP but has no evidence to support the dx, in fact, he didn't even tell me since it's always the nurse who tells me what he thinks and says after she sits with me...
