I'm down to using Cipro because I can't take many of the antibiotics. It is strong, but doesn't affect my counts. Amoxicillin always caused a drop for me.

I've always had sinus headaches, but last weekend, I had one so bad that my left eye was streaming tears, while my right eye was fine. This was ME! The eyelid swelled so big I looked like a fish--and decided not to go to my niece's engagement party! And it has been one after the other since then for a week. I usually take one Tylenol Sinus and one Motrin--but I'm not the one with ITP, so decide on the Motrin for yourself. If I take them when the headache is just starting, that's usually enough to ward it off. Wasn't working last week until I doubled the Tylenol Sinus, and by then I'd had enough of the drugs and the pain.

I tried the Neti pot yesterday for the first time-the weather is still stinking hot, but my head hasn't hurt for 24 hours for the first time in a week! A Neti pot is a nasal irrigation thing-looks like a teapot, too! In one nostril, out the other. I was so clogged, it didn't flow thru the first time. Then I took the Tylenol sinus and tried the Neti pot again an hour later--much better! I can now breathe thru both nostrils, even lying down! Got mine at Wal-Mart, but they're everywhere. I'm astounded that it has worked SO well! Cost about $20-25, solution packets are in the box. Won't hurt your counts--it's saline solution! Hope it does the trick for BOTH of you!
