I need a second opinion, before I decide if my new issue is doctor-worthy or if I need not worry about it too much and can just mention it at my next appointment with the rheumy. I have ITP (with counts pretty much staying in the 50's) and connective tissue disorder and know that I should take plenty of precautions in the sun. I did take precautions with what I wore, we did a lot of fishing, and was super freaky with the sunscreen, I reapplied AT LEAST once an hour, to the point that everyone thought I was a bit crazy. I am fair skinned and no stranger to getting a little too much sun, but I have never been as careful as I was this time. I did get a few patches of sunburn on my legs and where those patches are is covered with petechiae but only in those spots, but in the past few days I have been breaking out in a rash much like poison ivy (kinda blistery but not really in a cluster) on my hands a little but more on my feet (tops) where I got sunburn. It does seem to go down a bit with benedryl, but it does come back and it does itch. It's not really like hives, which I get off and on normally and was told to just take benedryl when it happens by my rheumy. So anyone ever have anything like this? I'm really hoping it's not doctor-worthy my rheumy has a way of making me feel a crazy person. I'm not really sure how I feel about him yet. It's been a week since I got the sun and still having issues. The only medication I take is plaquinil and I know that can increase sensitivity to the sun. Let me know if you have any ideas, Thanks!!
