My daughter was diagnosed with chronic ITP when she was 8 yrs old, she is now 22 and a RN. She is starting a new position as a RN in a children's hospital's emergency room. She was cleared to work but advised to get the Varicella, TDAP and HEPB for her on safety. My understanding all along was she could not get the shots because of her ITP. Her hematologist said it's up to her but advised us that it could drastically drop her platelets, or maybe not affect them at all. She takes 50mg of Promacta every day and is at a level of 190. She wants to get the vaccines but I am a nervous wreck and very confused on what she should do. Please help . any thoughts on this would be very much appreciated. Thank You very very much

I will say what I did in the other thread you posted this in:
Your daughter in an adult and an RN - you must be very proud of her!!
You need to trust that she will do what she feels is right for her.
Good luck to her in her new job!!
