mouth blisters and when to go to check blood

Hi All,
I have mouth blisters if my platelets in the middle of 30 (that is my guess). I had them twice so far. They are not big and not all around my mouth. My hematologist says that I need to go to check my blood if I see even one. I had just one last time. She said that some people get one small blister, but platelets count can be below 10 and that is why I need to check. Just to be safe.She is not pushing it, but highly recommend. I usually very very tired/fatigued if platelets that low. Both times when I noticed blisters it was on the weekends and labs were closed. So far I managed to check my blood only 2 days after (counts were 36 and 37). So, my question is from your experience are you going to do blood draw if you have mouth blisters? Should I go to ER if lab is closed? I do not want to look like paranoid person asking to just do blood draw while being in ER. Plus I would waste a lot of time if my counts not very low. And if they are below 30, I do not want to have a treatment right away, but would rather wait a day or two to check if numbers are growing. Can you please share your experience.

I have no chance of getting a blood test at my local surgery at a weekend. Nearest ER is over 15 miles away. Personally I would not bother going over just for a platelet count I would wait for surgery to open on a Monday.

I get random blood blisters even at safe amount of platelets but I will say if I notice other symptoms along with the blisters, the higher the chances my platelets are low. Also if I have multiple blisters at a time is a good indicator that I need to get labs done...I know we’re all different but I hope this helps!

Yes, it helps:) Thank you. I do not have much symptoms except extreme tiredness and very easy bruising when my platelets around 40. I will keep in mind to keep cool when I see a blister next time.

One blister and I don't worry because it will mean I bit or scraped my mouth on something while eating, several blisters or a large splodgy one and I'll get a count. But by then I'll also have blood in my nose and spontaneous purple bruises anyway. You just have to know your own symptoms, but that takes time to learn.

I had the worst blister on the side of my tongue about 2 weeks before I was diagnosed with a platelet count of 1. I'd had tongue blisters before, but nothing that severe. Since then I've used mouth wash every night and haven't had any noteworthy blisters. My platelet counts have remained normal too, but I don't think there is a causal effect.
