I can't remember when he last went for a count - last year sometime? Anyway, I nagged him so much that he went before going back to university, and the result was an amazing 49! That's the highest I think he's been for the last decade, and a slow but steady increase every year. I mean, 49 is nearly roundable up to 100 isn't it :P

Good count. Looking back, that sounds plausible to what count I could have had at his age as well. I delivered furniture one summer between semesters. When something heavy would lean against my chest, I'd get a bruise from that. Otherwise, nothing. That sounds 50'ish, I think.

Yes, he gets bruises in situations where other people would get bruises too. Maybe his bruises are a little bit worse but nothing special.
