That's great! The thing about ITP is that it's unpredictable. I've had counts go up with no explanation. We always assume that counts will drop if we don't treat but that isn't always the case.

Today 18th January my count dropped to 43000.
Still happy because according to my doctor I dont need medication. We are in a "wait and see" mode with tests every 10 to 15 days if no bleeding (I never had any bleeding anyways).
However, he couldnt explain why it wents up to 74.000 or dropped to 43000. Something must have caused it. It cant be magic and thats why I am not happy about the current research situation on ITP. I had a nice 74000 when I was on holidays in Spain and a 43000 back on my job to Estearn Europe. is it the polution? Was the cold I had before the 74000? was the Omeoprazol 40 mg i took until 3 January?
Well..... I hope the research interest in ITP increases to leave the middle ages medical approach because I feel like we can as well put a chicken leg over or doors to fight it...:(

Groucho:
Platelet counts fluctuate constantly, and so do the antibodies that destroy them. Illnesses and medications can have an affect on platelets too, but a difference of 31k in a week or more isn't a surprising occurrence. Hopefully you go back up a bit from here.

Today 8th February, platelets count dropped to 39000..... crossing fingers to keep it over 30000. But the pattern is to go down unfortunately.
I was on weekend 2 weeks ago to the mountain and my platelets were 55000. I left Spain with 73000. Could it this environment be the one pushing down my platelets? Mmmmm

Keep eating and drinking whatever you ate and drank. I strongly believe natural remedies can cure us. All the best. Keep it up.

  • Received diagnosis of ITP in July of 2016 after going to emergency in Vancouver, BC, Canada and finding I had 3 platelets at that moment. Repeatedly had crashes every 3 to 6 months. In 2019, one crash & 2020, after an imminent crash, raised them naturally

The following assisted me in naturally increasing my platelets several times this past year 2020:
-drinking the electrolyte beverage Pedialyte. I would drink 1 litre throughout the day. Perhaps even two bottles over two days. I was dehydrated regularly.
- taking Probiotic from Renew Life brand daily. 80 or 100 billion bacteria.
- taking Multi Mineral and Multi vitamin from brand TrueHope called EMPplus. It's a daily with the entire spectrum of Vitamins and minerals needed by the body.
- Vitamin D and K2 once a week. Which might explain better numbers when you were in Spain with all the sunshine exposure which is Vitamin D.
Hope some of these things that worked for me may be of assistance for you. Wishing you strong platelets!
