Signs of a Relapse

I'm curious what signs/symptoms you experienced at the start of a relapse after being in remission. I've been in remission for 5 years, and I stopped having regular CBCs about 2 years ago after a consistent string of platelet counts in the 200s.
But recently, I've noticed more bruising on my legs - not those deep purple itp bruises, but more bruises none the less. And my current period is lasting a lot longer than normal. Plus, I just had a mole removed on my arm and I bled through the stitches today.
Basically - Am I hyper sensitive just because what I've been through with ITP in the past or are these similar warning signs you noticed during the start of a relapse?

Personally, I do not notice anything until my counts crash to below 10k.. and I generally do not get worried if the bruises aren't bright blue (and if there's no petechiae). If your count is low it probably isn't under 60-70. Maybe just go for your annual health check up and request a cbc? good luck and keep us updated!

You should probably be having a yearly physical with full CBC done! I was in "remission" for a number of years [not a normal count though] and was having a CBC yearly - then one year I needed a tetanus booster & my count tanked, I had no symptoms at all just a feeling which turned out to be accurate.

Also the smartest thing anyone can do is:
When in doubt check it out!!

Of course bruising, bleeding and petechiae are signs of a relapse, but those can occur even at normal counts. I wouldn't worry about what the symptoms are....if you're worried, get a CBC.

I did that once too. I had over a year of good counts so I stopped going and stopped caring. I saw my GP one day and he suggested that I get a count done (a year and a half after I stopped getting CBC's). I tried to tell him I didn't want one but he insisted. Turned out that my counts were in the 30's. I have no idea how long they were down there; it didn't matter though since I had no symptoms. I had to start monitoring at that point though.
