ITP as a child was created by amyheller
Hi, I am a 50 year female that feels like absolute crap everyday with a long slew of illnesses. I had ITP as a teenager and I am wondering if I am at risk of getting it again? I don't have any of the symptoms right now but have over the past years. Occasional weird rash on leg, blood in eye, occasional weird bruising which all can be attributed to other things. Regular blood work always seems to be normal. Just want to get some opinions.

Hi Amy, I’m so sorry you feel horrible every day.

You mean you’ve been in remission all this time, or was it considered cured? Are these symptoms similar to the ITP symptoms you had when you were a teenager? If your CBC has been normal when you’ve had those symptoms it doesn’t seem like it’s ITP.

However, since you are having those symptoms and feel so poorly all the time, there is definitely illness that needs to be addressed and treated. Are you currently taking any medications or seeing any specialists? If so, what do they say?

ITP can always return. Did you treat as a teenager? My sister also had ITP when she was 16. It went away after a year and she's been fine since. She's now 52.
