quick NSAIDs question was created by Neve24
Hello,

Everywhere I looked this up I read that if you have ITP you should avoid taking NSAIDs for pain.. but I'm assuming that only applies to the times your platelet count is low, right?
My question is, is it ok to take ibuprofen when my counts are ok? I have headaches quite often and I don't always have paracetamol on hand wherever I go (and let's be real, ibuprofen works a LOT better that paracetamol). I can't seem to find any info on this so your opinions would be greatly appreciated. :)

Neve:

You're right, you should avoid NSAID's if your count is low because it thins the blood. Taking them in moderation with good counts should be okay.
