Breast Biopsy was created by plustig
I just got home from a 2nd mammogram with ultra sound and I have a mass that they need to do a biopsy on. The complication is that my platelets are 10,000. I would be happy to take treatment that would raise them, but nothing has ever worked to raise them. Has anyone had a needle biopsy on a breast lump who has ITP? I'd love to hear your experience.

Hey plustig. I had a needle biopsy and there was very little bleeding. I did warn them about my platelets (they weren't as low as yours) so they used a smaller needle, but I was pleasantly surprised how little bruising there was. Good luck!
