Eye Sight was created by Moe1327
I have chronic ITP, but just recently been treated. I have trouble with eye sight and seeing bubbles and seems like someone is next to me. I did see a retinal specialist and was told this is a result from ITP. Anyone else have this and do you just have to live with it? I go to back to the eye doctor at end of month and don't know really what questions to ask.
Any advise????

That is not a result of ITP. Have you had any bleeding in your eye? It can be a side effect of steroids....have you been on those lately?

No steroids, I've been receiving IVIG treatments. I was told that the bleeding behind eyes is a result of the ITP. I have had low platelet count for years, but not treated for it.

Bleeding behind the eye could probably cause problems with eye sight, but that is rare. That has never been a discussion here. People have, on occasion, had Subconjunctival Hemorrhages in their eye but not very often and it did not damage eyesight. Did you have any obvious bleeding symptoms?

I have bubbles that I see and sometimes it seems like something is next to me. Went to retinal specialist and was told I have bleeds in retina (sticky blood) and that is what is affecting the eyes. I do have to go now monthly to see the retina specialist. He said that as my platelets go up vision should improve, but if they go down it can reoccur.

Hmmm. Seems like 'bleeds' and 'sticky blood' is a contradiction. Sticky blood usually refers to clotting. What is your count now?
