Good Morning everyone, I do hope you are all doing well done getting the help you need to stay that way.
It's been a while but it seems my issues are so repetitive that I sound like a broken record.
I have ten days before I see my hematologist.....I've been counting.
I had a bad 2016 ending in Rituxan. My platelets went very high no last blood work two weeks ago was 417. I go today to get a current one. That seems well so far and for the time being I tell myself I don't have ITP!
But the cost has been very high for me. The Rituxan has caused a Lupus flare. It is worse than ever before and does not seem to be going anywhere. Today I had to have my husband sit me up and unfold my arms and hands so I could drink some to take my medicine. It began January 25 after my third Rituxan treatment. Thankfully I had an appointment to see my rheumatologist just about then and fessed up to her that things were no so good. She gave me Meloxicam, an anti-inflammatory. It is the only thing that gets me through right now.
I haven't seen my hematologist since October and don't feel she has done a great job in the support department. So in ten days it should be an interesting appointment. It doesn't seem that she likes questions or complications which is funny as as far as my health situation I am just that, questions and complications. Seems we all are on this forum.
I am just wondering if there have been others with this kind of outcome, and how long it might go on. I wonder should I
begin to consider this is my life now and figure out how to do my best to live it. Maybe some in house help, my husband is having to do too much for me.
For today, the sun is shinning through my window a happy sight to a Canadian after months of cold, the birds are chirping and TMC has Mildred Pierce playing. GUess I will sit back and enjoy my coffee and movie and contemplate getting mobile! WIshin you all the best. Sandy Too

Sandy:
I had complications after Rituxan. I've told you that. I also said that people with Lupus seem to have more problems after Rituxan than people who do not have Lupus. I'm not sure exactly how it might have affected you and have no idea how long it might last. I've never been the same and it's been 12 years. You could improve depending on what the problem is, but usually the only thing the doctors will do is prescribe meds like Imuran and CellCept. My Rheumatologist has never had any great suggestions and there really isn't much they can do. Maybe they will find something in blood work like an elevated SED Rate and work on that.
