So there is allot more on my blood work up than the platelet count.
Which is 61 today! :cheer: I have only dropped by 3 for the past three weeks!

My hemo has not really explained it to me, she just said that being on pred can raise levels.
Is it of importance when evaluating ITP or is it just part of the CBC?
my WBC tends to always be high. today 12.4 - normal 4.0-11.0
then there is Differential, what is that? today neutrophils 8.8 -normal 2.0-7.5
then Morphology, what is that? I have listed, Leukocytosis, lymphocytosis, Neutrophilia almost every time. plus today something new "occasional myelocytes seen on scan"

I ask as if these are indicators to infection, which are always on my blood work up, then would that mean I would have to treat with antibiotic before Rituxan?

The differential is the lab test that gives the relative proportions of the different white cells in your blood.

Morphology is a study of the shapes of the blood cells, i.e., whether some or improperly shaped.

CD-20 B-cells are a type of B-cells, and are the target of Rituxan. B-cells are a type of leukocyte. Leukocytes are a type of white cells. Lymphocytes is another name for white cells.

Neutrophils (also known as neutrocytes) are a type of granulocytes, which are another type of lymphocyte.

Myelocytes are a type of immature granulocytes (mostly immature neutrophils), normally found in the marrow. They are not supposed to be circulating in the blood, but sometimes do.

Leukocytosis means excessive number of leukocytes. Lymphocytosis means excessive number of lymphocytes. Neutrophilia means an excessive number of neutrophils.

Your WBC counts are not very far out of range, not enough to be worried, unless your doctor is.

The WBC can be high due to Prednisone use. It doesn't look like anything to worry about, they are not that far out of range.
