Is fatigue a known effect of ITP? Especially when platele count is dropping.

Doctors generally say there is no relation of fatigue to ITP, but many patients on here say otherwise. My ITP teen (now an adult) was quite fatigued and pale when the platelets were down.

  • ITP since 2014. Retired nurse. My belief is empower patients to be involved as much as possible in their care. Read, read, read & ALWAYS question medics about the evidence base they use.

Have a look at this. Fatigue is the major issue as far as I am concerned

My daughter's major symptom was fatigue, she was diagnosed when we were doing bloodwork to investigate feeling "run down" and "dragging." As her counts dropped her fatigue increased. When her counts were very low the fatigue was overwhelming.
