Hi all,
getting slowly off prednisone (currently at 40 mg from 100 mg a month ago) and I don't have my checkup scheduled for another week, so I am wondering if I should be concerned about a nose bleed I had when blowing my nose this morning - there is some nastiness going around and I have been a little under the weather.
The bleed happened while taking a hot shower and stopped relatively quickly and I do not see any bruising, or other tell tell signs my platelets are down (they were at 239k last week - down from 289 and 489 respectively over the previous two weeks). Nose bleeds are not part of my usual symptoms, so i am willing to just attribute it to the cold but I thought i would put it out there to see what y'alls experience was.

I wouldn't worry about it. Since it stopped quickly and you do have a cold, there is a reasonable explanation for it.

Thanks Sandi, just having a rough time this time around (you know from my other posts).. being able to run stuff by the group has been such blessing.

any count between 150 & 450 is considered normal

Yes i know. I was concerned it might have fallen since the last check, hence the relatively heavy nose bleed. 12 hours later it is a fully blown sinus infection but no more bleeds.
