My wife died in April due to complications from Nplate. It caused Micro-clots to form in her body (confirmed in the brain and heart tissue) which led to respiratory failure and multiple watershed strokes. She had no prior history of clotting nor any ailments that could lead to clotting. Note this issue is NOT the same “clotting” issue caused by the disclosed excessive platelet production potential side-effect of Nplate (her platelets never even reached 200). It’s something else entirely, and something that is very, very dangerous.
In exploring a potential lawsuit against Amgen, which could help save people’s lives, I wanted to put an APB out to the ITP community for anyone who is aware of any Nplate patients who have ever experienced any issues that could be connected with micro-clotting. This includes respiratory, renal, liver, or heart issues; and of course any form of stroke.
I believe Amgen is aware of the micro-clotting side effect of Nplate and has either been ignoring it or acting to cover it up.
