I was wondering if any of you had ever had a dental implant. I need to have a tooth removed and spoke with my dentist about an implant. He said he was not willing to do this because of my ITP and even had some reservations about an extraction before speaking with my doctor.

I was diagnosed about with ITP about 2 1/2 years ago and have been on NPlate for 1 1/2 years. I typically have a platelet count any where between 100 and 200. Last week I was at 108. I go every week for my shot and they always do a CBC at that time so I always know my levels.

Has any one had any experience with this. I would appreciate hearing from you if you have.

Thank you,
Renee

I think that dentist needs to inform himself and maybe take the time to have a chat with your Hemo. If you have normal counts, which you do seem to have, there is no reason he cannot perform a procedure like that.
