Hi, I haven't been on here for a while, but I'm just wondering if anyone can answer a question for me.
My daughter who is 8 has had ITP for several years now with a very low count. Tiredness is alway a huge issue, but today she said something that I found interesting. She told me she has two types of tiredness. One where she is just tired and the other is when she is really tired because the work is too hard.

I know that her ability at school fluctuates a lot because of her tirednes. One day something will be really easy and the next day something simple becomes impossible.

I have read about 'brain fog' that comes with autoimmune conditions and I'm wondering,if this also happens with ITP and if so, does this 'tiredness because the work is so hard' sound like brain fog or am I looking into this too much?

I have brain fog due to Lupus and it can feel like you haven't slept in 48 hours. You just want to sit and stare...talking is even exhausting because trying to form words is too much trouble. Listening to someone else is even worse, it feels like their words are all jumbled up in your head and you literally want them to just shut up (lol).

There are several different types of fatigue. Whole body weakness is another one; you feel like a wet noodle and don't want to move.

Has she been checked for other problems like vitamin deficiencies, thyroid disorders or other autoimmune issues? We too often assume that ITP is the cause but sometimes, there is another reason that can be treated.
