So I finally got in to see a rheumatologist in Birmingham Alabama (I've been living here since March). It was really hard to get an appointment and it was almost three months out. It's with the University of AL system. Well, the doctor was just wonderful. He was somehow extremely informed about ITP despite being a rheum. He knew it was called Immune not Idiopathic. He knew all the meds. He knew that splenectomy was a LAST resort. And he was nice, and listened, and took 8 tubes of blood even though I'm feeling fine. What a pleasant surprise.
My platelets are at 194, still in remission since 2009-ish.
