So I went camping last weekend and knowing I would be camping I went and got a platelet count. (whoohoo for once I was a good patient)

Called the next day for my results this was last Thursday (camp started Friday). After 10 minutes of being transferred back and forth between an automated message and the switch board I reached a human. I explained I was leaving for camp the next day and needed to get my platelet count. She asked if they could call me back I said "no" I work nights and I woke up just to call and get my count! So she said hold on I'll go back there and get one of the nurses to pick up the line and get you your results.

After waiting for a couple of minutes I hear!

Dr. so and so ( I'm thinking oh great disturb her when she's busy you didn't need to bug her! any joe could of gotten my results)

She says hi Winnifred Your platelets are 16 and you need to come in stat for IVIG! (the drug she swore she would never give me)

She paused there was a moment of silence than all of a sudden she starts laughing and haha says just kidding your platelets are 168 have fun at camp!

Yeppers smart a$$ just like me! I am liking her more and more!

Love it - that's fantastic!
I am sooo . . . hanging out for a camp fire. Can't believe it's been 11 months since we went north! Very cold here & we had an unusually cold, windy autumn. But the new crops are sown & coming up nicely, lambs arriving & fishing good. :P
Hopefully we will explore west later in the year, across the Nullabor (no trees) Plain & Great Australian Bight.
Hope you get to go camping again soon Julia.

I am afraid anymore camping is out of the question. Need to save every cent I have for the next year and half.

Son's wedding end of this month. Have a dress but no shoes went shopping today came home with shoes but still none for the wedding. The Sunday I came home from camp was my future daughter-in-laws bridal shower. That cost me plenty cause I bought them a BBQ, cover and one of those kits with all the utensils needed.

Son's wedding is a Super Mario theme he will be wearing a Mario costume best man wearing Luigi. I am currently on the lookout for a Warrio costume or someone to help make it.

Daughter's wedding in 2016. She has the dress it is amazing. She has run into a couple of tiny problems! Her health and life are not going so well right now! Just found out she is loosing her job! Mainly due to her health issues. Just got MRI results back she has a lesion on her brain (brain damage from too many concussion). Now she is talking about calling the wedding off.

So I need to double my efforts to save money so I can say "don't worry about the wedding"!

Sorry to hear about your daughter, Julia. I hope her issues can be resolved soon.

It is difficult dealing with multiple celebrations (we had 3 weddings in 5 months!) & paying attention to each fairly. I did a lot of negotiating about certain expenditures (eg chair covers - "you can spend that money on your honeymoon"!) And I admit having the receptions in the country & having generous friends & rellies helped a lot. BUT it's possible to have a wonderful celebration on a budget. Hang in there.
