I was curious if folks notice petechiae after showers? I was wonder if it is the heat or the action of the water hitting my hands. I was just curious if common. Thanks.

I get them when I'm outdoors in hot weather, mostly on my shoulders under bra straps. I remember that always happening, even many years before my ITP diagnosis. I think it's a combo of the heat and the pressure. Aggressively scratching an itch can do it, too. It's not that hard to break delicate capillaries, really.

Odd that you wrote what you did. I found TWO places under my strap for the first time yesterday, ever. I had been at the park for a fews hours with my family.

Thank you.

My petechiae are often more noticeable after a shower, which I assumed was due to increased local bloodflow in the affected area making the discoloration more noticeable. I also often notice petechiae during or after showering, since that is the time of day I'm seeing all of me unclothed. I haven't noticed hot water itself causing petechiae, however.

When you heat up the outside of your body it causes the capillaries closest to the surface to dilate. So in theory if you counts are below normal you could see more petechiae after a hot shower.

What Aoi said could be the case as when we are naked we can see more skin so we would notice spots quicker.
