Does anyone who is on NPlate suffer from sleeplessness. I get 3hrs sleep then 2hr being awake then 2hrs and so on through the night. Yet I am perfectly OK through the day (as if I have had a good sleep) then the cycle continues. THis has been going on for a couple of years. Does anyone else have this problem and have suggestions for an OTC drug which may help. thanks for any suggestions.

Are you sure it's because of N-Plate? It could be, but there might be another reason.

I've had that problem on and off for years. About six years ago, I had trouble sleeping and would only get 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night. I felt like I had RLS in my entire body. That went on for two years until I discovered that my ferritin level was low so I began to take iron. Within two weeks, the problem was gone.

About three years ago, I began to wake up numerous times during the night and then found out that I have sleep apnea. That was fixed with a C-Pap.

Then about two years ago, I started waking up around 3 a.m. feeling so achy I can't get back to sleep. That is still going on and I don't know what is causing that. I take Advil PM every night and I think it helps some. It at least helps me to initially fall asleep, but I usually wake up.

I don't use N-Plate, but there can be many causes. It's good that you don't feel tired during the day!

Insomnia is one of the listed side effects of NPlate, but seems its not very common.

When I first started on Nplate I had insomnia the first night after an injection then was fine the rest of the week. I couldn't sleep at all that first night. My doctor recommended Benedryl, it sort worked- not real well, it made me feel tired the next morning at work. After a few weeks on Nplate most all the side effects went away including insomnia.

If your insomnia is due to Nplate, its sort of odd that your sleep patterns are so consistent since levels of Nplate are always fluxuating. ?I don't really know- just a thought.
