Hi , I am six weeks post-rituxin treatments and still on 20 mg of Prednisone. My numbers increased initially but have been decreasing since. They were 74 today, but that's neither here nor there. My kids were diagnosed with the flu today, and I am not feeling so hot. I was just wondering if anyone else had the flu post-rituxin while still on prednisone and what I should expect?

There have been many discussions about getting sick after Rituxan, and most people have said that they did not get sick more often than usual after Rituxan. However, since you've been exposed and have symptoms, you probably will get it. I have found that while on immunosuppressants, the illness seems to last longer and is harder to get rid of. That may or may not be true for you, depending on how well the rest of your immune system is working and how much your immunity has been compromised.

There isn't much you can do except ride it out and if symptoms get worse, see your doctor.
