Hi, I have a horrible cold right now. I am currently on 10 mg prednisone and my count is pretty steady around 50. I know if I take any cold meds that my count is going to plummet. Does anyone know if there is any safe cold meds to take?

Everyone reacts differently to meds. Counts do not automatically go down with any med, but they could.

Other ways to deal with it can be: saline nasal spray, steam, Tylenol, Vicks, etc.

I have taken Mucinex which is Guaifenesin and may not impact counts. Also Sudafed which is Pseudophedrine (behind the counter). Both can help with congestion.
