I just bought a puppy, and when I got him, no hives or allergies, About a week later I got hives, etc. Well also had a bunch of bruises. Now that my counts are back up, no more hives from the dog. Anyone else experience this?

Two thoughts. One, platelet gobbling spleen is auto-immune, as are hives. So it makes sense that increased disease activity causes both, and one could set off the other.

Two, maybe your puppy got into something that irritated your skin.

I was afraid the increase in hives I'm having would indicate lower counts but so far not the case. Although my counts are fluctuating more these days.
