My platelets crashed again for the 10th time in 22 years this past sunday. My count is 7,000. I have severe petechia and bruises. The worst thing right now is my body all over is really itchy. Never had this before. I am not taking any meds yet, the promacta is not in yet at the pharmacy, and I can't figure this out.

Could use any information I can get.

I was just coming in to ask this same question. My daughter has it, and last time they checked (2 months ago) her platelets were 159. But over the last 10 days to two weeks she developed an itch rash that comes and goes on stomach, legs and arms. I saw it and it is not petechie. She just went to her primary doctor and they are doing bloodwork again, but the rash was not there today... so, of course, the doctor didn't get to see.

Anyone?

My guess would be either dry skin from the winter weather (for cow) or an allergic reaction (for maeld).

been loading up on lotion as always.... not much dry skin. And it started whent he platelets dropped.

Maybe allergies? Autoimmune things can flare up around the same time. There are a lot of things that can cause itchiness.

I thought I was going to go crazy last night with itchy skin!! I also just took a shower and put lotion on, and my count was 6k as of last thursday...weird. I have been considering gettin the allergy test done...
