i live at pretty close to your numbers, between 2 and 9. however, i havent had a count done in about 5 years so i dont know what i'm at now. i was diagnosed in 2001 and to this day never treated, but i take a couple of things into consideration.
i'm totally asymptomatic, not a bruise in sight. but that could be because i also have type 2 diabetes, and i forget where i read it buy type 2 diabetics have very sticky platelets, so that could account for being asymptomatic.
i retired and right away i felt the stress go away and my ibs cleared up, some say gut issues contribute to itp. if i had any sense i would have a cbc and see if my counts went up. not that i recommmend this but i dont seek any medical attention and treat everything myself, but i dont have a family so its only my life im impacting if i die. you wouldnt want to cause your family grief.
you could go to a naturopath and have them give you an examination. just like a conventional doctor, they dont have the answer as to what causes itp, but if they find imbalances, correcting them may improve your count. for example, there is a lot of information out there that fungal and bacterial infections lower platelet and other bone marrow cell counts.
