Hi. It's well past time that I introduced myself. This wonderful group of people is an absolute lifeline for ITPers. I am a 58 year old woman in Calgary, Alberta. I was diagnosed with ITP 2 years ago and have been monitored by my hemo and treated with IVIG before 2 foot surgeries to keep my count above 50. The past few months my allergies/sensitivities have become more noteable. Could this a part of ITP, the autoimmune system running amok or something else? I am a fixture at my dr.'s office so I shall be mentioning this to him.

Debby:

Autoimmune disorders can come in groups sometimes, meaning that if you have one, you may be prone to others. Allergies can come with the territory. I had allergies long before ITP; eczema as a child and nasal allergies as an adult. It's not really ITP related, just autoimmune-related. Hopefully you can control it easily.
