My count is down was created by eklein
My count from Friday was 115, down from 215 in August. Also my TSH was above the normal limit, my doctor is increasing my levothyroxine from 100 to 125. Maybe that's what's needed (hoping)...

Diagnosed May 2005, lowest count 8K.
4/22/08: 43K (2nd Rituxan)
10/01/09: 246K, 1/8/10: 111K, 5/21/10: 233K
Latest count: 7/27/2015: 194K

Hope your counts climb!!! I am feeling the need to have my counts checked soon! Have that gut feeling. :unsure:

I'm sorry to hear that Erica. Even though it's still a great number I know the sinking feeling of it being lower than expected. I'm going to agree with you that the increase in meds is just what's needed. When do you go for another count?

My last count two weeks ago was back up a bit, 166 - whew! I'm on a slightly higher dose of levothyroxin which feels ok. My white count was slightly below normal and the doctor said that and another number suggested I had recovered from a virus. I'm not sure what that would be, but sounds reasonable.

When my thyroid was out of control, big ups and downs, I remember reading that it can impact platelet counts and that controlling the thyroid could result in stabilized normal counts. When I first had my thyroid ablated my counts did increase but then quickly dropped after maybe two months max.

My dose of levothyroxin has been stable for the last five (?) years so it was really weird that I needed to increase it. I can't explain that. It might have had something to do with the platelet drop, or maybe the mystery virus impacted both? Also maybe each was affected by hormones, I'm a 50ish woman.

That's great Erica!

I'm not Erica but I'll tell you I have found no connection between synthroid and platelet count.
