Count drop & enlarged lymph nodes

Count drop & enlarged lymph nodes was created by Lindy
My count has dropped to 50 (my "normal" is 90-100) & I have enlarged neck lymph nodes.
This time I don't have an infection so my doctor is ordering a CT scan next week to be done.
Could it be lymphoma? I am so anxious to say the least.
Anyone has any info about ITP & lymphoma, appreciate your input.

Lindy - It's scary waiting for test results....been there. All you can do is try not to worry until you find out that there is something to worry about.

My Mom had lymphoma, but had other symptoms with it as well...fevers, night sweats, chills, etc. The good thing is that most lymphomas are treatable, just like ITP is.

I get enlarged lymph nodes in my neck when my disease is more active - so coincides with low counts. They went away when I was on prednisone, and also are almost totally gone when I am feeling well and my counts are up. I get them also when I get any little skin irritation nearby. Once years ago my doctor sent me to a surgeon who measured the swolen node and noticed it didn't get bigger and got a tiny bit smaller and the surgeon said not to worry about things that don't grow and even shrink.

This is really interesting.

In 2006 I was hospitalized with swollen lymph nodes in my groain area and fevers of 104. I have chronic ITP / Evans Syndrome and they never related the two. They couldn't figure it out after a lymph node biopsy and several tests.

Recently at the beginning of december, I had the same thing happened. After a biopsy and more tests they found nothing except clusters of lymphocytes in the node, which they are unsure why this happened.

Thank you all for your replies.

Yes Sandi, waiting is a terrible, scary thing.
What is worrying is that I am having chills lately.
Will deal with lymphoma or whatever when it comes.

@Erica, how did the doc measure the swollen node. through scan?

@gwenny, so have the lymphocytes cleared in your nodes? Glad is nothing seroius & you're alright.

I don't know. They don't do post- biopsies. However, I'm just nervous this will happen again with yet another mystery diagnosis.

Lindy,
The doctor measured the swollen lymph node with a little ruler! :)

gwenny, all the best & I hope it won't happen again to you.

Erica, thanks for that, I needed something to calm my nerves till my next appointment.

Sandi, I'm glad your mom is free from lymphoma now. Best of health to her too.
