I'm noticing the difference in how people describe their treatments - a lot of us, especially new here, talk about doctors deciding to do this treatment or that to us. Some of us, especially after we've been in the whole medical arena for a while dealing with this, talk about choosing (usually in conjunction with the doctor) a treatment.
I think the difference is having knowledge of the disease and the research and the options and the risks, and having a realistic perspective of the medical profession. This is a good place to acquire all of that.
