Not that I am h aivng any but I was wonderign waht kind of symptoms would suggested you are having internal bleeding or can that only be determined by a trip to the ER? May stomach has been huring but that maybe do to the down doesing of the predisone.

The biggest sign is black tarry stools.

Michelle, this one I can help you with, only had one but the pain in unbelievable, you cannot move as the pain is that bad. You will certainly know if you have internal bleeding.

TThanks everyone. That makes me feel better. My stomach is a upset with a slight off and on pain on the right side. maybe from down dosing the prednisone or the tamales I ate the other day.. I think I will have some soup for supper today, something light. But I can move just went grocery shopping with my bro. I did have a black stool yesterday but remember I ate a lot of black licorice the day before. This morning stool was regular color..

Are you taking something for the stomach.. omeprazole or something similar? If not then ask as you should be on something when taking steroids.

Internal bleeding means black stools or frank blood on stool, or red urine, or anything else obvious.. bloody coughing or vomiting. It's really rare and if it happens it isn't a major emergency so don't worry about it too much.

Not to be Gross but yeah the black licorice will do that. I also like black Licorice. Are you reffering to a bleed in the stomache or internal bleeding in general? Could be the Prednisone. Is it a burning pain? Burning pain is associated with an Ulcer. Does it disappear and return.

Hi.


Yes the doctor suggested that I take prilosec. I haven’t taken it yet, kind of scare to as I remember when my mom was alive, the doctor suggested she take it (for gas she was having after she had her illostomy surgery) but I remember her getting sick and dizzy from it and make her feel worse. So I am kind of scare to try it.

The pain I have on my right side of my stomach,, is off and on. I does not keep me awake at night, it seems to happen right after I eat and then it stays for a while. It’s only on the right side. I don’t know if it’s a bit of constipation maybe from down dosing and today I feel a bit like throwing up:sick: (I haven’t but have the feeling) I wonder if my platelets are dropping again cause I feel really lousy, I go for my CBC tomorrow morning..

You should try the Prilosec and if it makes you ill, ask for something else. There are several different drugs you could take but it is important to take something to protect the stomach.

Ok I wil l give it atry today. I am just tired of so many pills inmy system. I was always the one in the family who took nothing by my thyroid pill. Now with taking so many different things I jusst wondering what kind of war and tear it is having on my all my mjaor organs.
