Can one get blood blisters in the mouth for any other reason than ITP (especially when the normal is for ITP)? Or can having had rituximab in July produce blood blisters later on?

I get them at any count below 150 if I bite my cheek, or if I drink a too hot drink I'll get one appear under my tongue on the floor of my mouth. It then fills up with blood, bursts and goes away.

Edit: Should have added that I only get them spontaneously below 10 and much more so below 5.

Previously mine were a very sound sign of low platelets and would need to ring up that day or within the weekend. (accept one day about two year ago I had the tiredness then the blood blister but nothing else) All other times I would be in hospital that day or the next. But this last few month I have had the blood blisters but nothing else what so ever. Last tuesday being slightly bigger which had gone by the end of breakfast to be replaced with the tiny ones I been having this half of the year. I have tried searching online and everything says either about like you have said Ann about biting ones cheeck or thrombocytopenia. Previous to this sixth month all my blood blisters are a direct sign of low platelets. Now I have posted this, I bet I don't get another. But it kind of frustrating because even if I had set out to the hospital on tuesday they wouldn't have seen anything.

(even more frustrating as a side shoot i have a childhood habit of picking at the skin on my thumb. Every time I have done that this year later a blood blister has appeared in my mouth. So am assuming my childhood habit is my brain in some way telling me that my body is not quite right along the way.)

Could the blood blisters be that am recovering from the rituximab in some way or that I been on steroids a long time this year - though mainly tapering effect long time
