Well, I had my count done on the 27th. Somewhere in the high 200's (287-297) is what I was told when I called for the results. I couldn't get an actual number from the nurse. Still in the normal range, but it did drop about 116k in two months. My next count is in May and then I see my hema in June. I'm not panicking yet. I'll just wait and see what happens in May.

Cindy we will just keep our fingers crossed your count stays up there in the normal range!

Crazy the nurse wouldn't give you the exact number.

Hello Cindy,
wow............287+, that's great. I am so happy for you. It could be that your platelets settled around this range! Thanks for sharing your story. You have been and still are a great inspiration.

Excellent news - and super weird - 'it's in the upper two hundreds, it ends with a seven but I can't tell you anything else' - hahaha - what sort of instructions is that nurse operating under? Anyway - you've had a full (normal counts) remission from rituxan and statistically you stand a very good chance of sustaining that remission for years. So not to worry!

Thanks all!

They were going to be busy that day, so I think the nurse just didn't have time to check the computer.

Yeah, Sandi, I didn't think I'd ever get to this point either.

I'm just taking things one day at a time. Not worrying about counts and will see what happens at my next blood draw.

Hello Cindy,
hope all is well. Just wanted to say hello and see how your latest counts are? I always remember when you have your blood test because my husband has the test around the same time. I sure hope your platelets bounced back from that stomach bug you had!
Thanks again for sharing your story.

Hi Rita,

I've had a couple of really low counts this past summer; 35 and 3 weeks later, just up to 49. At my last blood draw on the 18th, they were back up to 165. So I was happy about that.

Cindy, how wonderful, your platelets recovered.
I am so happy for you. Maybe the stomach bug caused the drop, but it is all good now.
Marty's platelet level has been in the normal range since his Rituxin treatment. I am so thankful!
Here is to steady normal count platelets for a long long time...........cheers!!

Congrats to you! My "normal" counts hover in the 50-60k range so 165k is almost like bragging - am I'm glad you can!! ;) - but a month ago mine came back (from my internist, not my hemonc) at 28k. I was shocked because I have no bruising, bleeding, petechiae, fatigue. Hemonc doesn't seem worried, wants to have the internist retest at 6 weeks and if still low, I'll go in so they can do it in their lab.

Had my latest count done this past Sunday, and they are at 247. Don't know what caused the drop, but they're back to normal, so I'm happy.

Hello Cindy,
my husband just had his platelet test and thank god his platelets have been stable in the 240. He now has to have his CBC every 3 month. I was thinking about you since you usually have the test around the same time as Marty. How are your platelets doing? Hope all is well!!

Hi Rita! Good to hear that Marty's counts are in the 200's. My last test on the 15th of this mth. my count was 340. At my last hema app't, he said I could go every 3 months, but never sent the orders over to the hospital, so I still go every 2; not that I mind, tho.

Thanks for asking! Hope Marty's counts stay up.

Hi Rita, counts are up in the 300's. Doing just fine. Don't wear my medicalert bracelet when I go out; feel nervous without it; I just never think to put it on.

Great to hear how Marty's counts are doing! Hope they continue to stay up there.
