Greetings all. I am new to this site. I have had ITP for several years now. Been fighting and fighting it Finally in Dec 2009 my dr. says I think we are in remission! Soon there after I had to have a hip replacement in Feb. 2010. All was well for a few months or so I thought. Well wasnt I lucky enough to get one of those DePuy hips that was recalled! The metal on metal caused metal fibers into my body which cause my immune system to once again create havoc. A pool of toxic fluid formed around my new hip and caused my counts to plummet back to 1000 and lower. Finally I had my hip revision on Feb 2011. As soon as it was done my counts started rising again! I have been up and down since,just wondering if anyone else has gone through something similar.
