pension and how to get it in canada was created by porqupine
i need to know about getting a pension here in canada.my count is at 19 right now does that matter.how long does it take.and how much is it .help please

Hi porqupine,

I've been on long term disability since 2005. I was diagnosed in /04, but still had some time on unemployment. I applied in October /04 and was approved in March of the next year. As for how much, it depends on a lot of things. I'm in NB, so things might be different here than where you are. I had to fill out a form and so did my doctor.

I can still work while on it too. I can make a certain amount of money before I have to call CPP and report the earnings.

Like Cindy says - it's the same in Alberta. It also depends how much you were earning before you applied. Good news you are cured when you reach 65 cos disability stops. (you get the OAS then) (couldn't find emoticon for sarcasm!!!!!!) Christine :)

thankyou for your help. i am still working but im very tired all the time.and i work in a steel shop my count is about 11 to 19 no higher for the past 4 years thats why i am asking
