Hi everyone!

Just found out my cousin has ITP as well. and we both seem to have this remitting reoccuring kind of thing. Does anyone else have family member with ITP? Doctors have told me that it's not the genetic kind and that instead our family must have some sort of genetic susceptibility to autoimmune disorders. Just wondering if anyone had comments!

My sister and I have both had ITP. She was diagnosed in 1982 and I was diagnosed in 1998. I agree with what your doctors said as far as we are concerned. Just a coincidence as far as autoimmune disorders go. The susceptibility was there.

I also have Lupus and my other sister has Discoid Lupus.

All of my siblings and both of my parents had/have some form of an autoimmune disorder.
Yep...genetic.

My father, a sibling, an aunt and her kids, an uncle, etc. Yes.
