Can we talk about RItuximab?

Interesting article, thanks.

I had a similar experience. I had four weekly infusions of Rituxan and got a 9 month remission, with counts in the normal range. Then I had two more infusions (that's it because I had an allergic reaction with head to toe hives) and I'm in remission so far for I think 3.5 years with counts in the normal range.

I can't have it any more because of the allergic reaction so I sure hope it lasts.

Thanks for the article and the other posts!!

I was thinking my doctor is either whacked, or cutting edge. Seriously I could go either way but have received a 2nd opinion who also spoke about Rituxin 'maintenance' but didn't go into specifics since it was to early to tell if I was actually responding.

Dru - truly appreciate the insurance angle, didn't even think of that! But yes, I'm sure that will be a factor too.

Like everything I've read on this site, it really is just a waiting game. I could get really lucky and never drop again or I could in a short amount of time. That article is quite interesting, but the regime is still relatively new so who is to say those people wouldn't have had that length of remission regardless? That is sort of how I'm feeling anyway, why subject myself to anything more - why not just wait it out and see what happens over the next few weeks to months? I want to just enjoy my good numbers and resume life!!
