I was diagnosed two years ago. My platelets hang around 60. I know. Better than most. The diagnosis is autoimmune as I have had many such diseases. Other than the bleed marks on my legs and staying away from non steroidal meds, I have no problems. I am 74. I get a CBC monthly. Over six months I have tried three formulas of Papaya Leaf Extract. Two months each. I read about it here. It did NOTHING. Maybe it didn't work for me or maybe only for non autoimmune? I read many stories here about dramatic platelet increases from using it. My hematologist and his partner researched it. They could find no credible reason for it to work for me. That's all I know.

Thanks. It has taken a while, but I now believe my doctor that there is really nothing I can do but monitor it and my body. If it drops below 40 there are an array of things he can do for me. It has taken a while, but I am at peace with it. I will not die from it and I have a life to live aside from it. There are no easy fixes.

I would think if papaya leaf extract was doing good for the majority then we would be hearing about it here.
60k really isn't a bad count. Did you have treatment when you were diagnosed?

I tried it because I read about it being used by many people on this site who reported positive results. I have had Chrone's Disease and now have rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, asthma, and other autoimmune diseases. My platelets were MUCH lower when I was taking meds for these problems. Many of the meds depressed platelets. Now I am off all of them. The only thing I take is 8 MG of Prednisone a day. It reduces bronchial inflammation and allows me to breathe. It also reduces arthritis in my feet so I can walk. I expect I will be on it for life. I think it keeps my platelets from falling as they have been stable at 60 for many months. For an old Geezer I am doing OK. I take long walks and can breathe. And that's alot when so many around me have Covid.

If it had an effect for me it might've caused my platelets to drop more slowly, but I ended up on 13000 in spite of Papaya Leaf extract.
