Has anyone had their platelets low, had MCV low and MCHC high? My husband is going to a hemotologist hopefully soon for low platelets 100 at last blood test.
But his MCHC was 36.1 which is only .1 high for our lab and his MCV was 81.6. Just wanted to know if anyone has had this.

Thank you
Chrissy

Chrissy I just looked back at my records from eons ago [diagnosed in 1989] - my MCV and MCHC are in the normal range. You know I wouldn't worry about it until you are told to worry about it. Your husband will be seeing a hematologist soon so see what is said at that visit when you ask about it.

Keep us posted.

Chrissy:
It looks like they are just barely out of range. Most of the time, there is nothing to worry about if something is just above or below the reference range. All labs use different ranges and his numbers might be perfectly normal at another lab.
