  • For 7 months, platelets crashed (as low as 1,000) every 10 days between IVIG treatments. I got cured 10/2017 after taking parasite destroying medicine and Rife US tx.

Hi Friends,
Today only 9 days after ivig x one day and promacta 50 mg daily since 8/6 I topped out at a whopping 1,000 today. So....Getting ivig today and upping promacta to 75.(Gonna have to break the pill)

The dr wanted to give nplate too but we suggested as you all have correctly drummed into my head and mayo hematology said too, to stick with one tpo so they are not doing nplate.

Hopefully after infusion today platelets will be 5,000 or more and I can go home. Problem is might not have opening in output tomorrow so is it a problem to wait until the next day before getting second dose of ivig?
Also do you need to wait 24 hrs between doses

Thanks guys ,
Cindy

Cindy:
I don't think there are any rules about when you have to get IVIG.

Thanks, I did not get 2nd day of IVIG. But primary care dr wants me to get blood draws 2xweek so I don't keep getting so low...1,000! Do you know if many people drop that low?

Cindy, oh my. Only 1,000? And this count with 50mg Promacta. Where is the weak response even. Is there any chance that the Promacta is somehow at least keeping symptoms at bay?

This is a tough road to be on. Have you given any thought about how long your going to try 75mg? Doctor made any suggestions?

Oh BTW, did the Mayo clinic have anything to say about whether they thought you did or did not respond to steroids/dex?

Hi,
Not sure if I responded to your note.
Mayo had no idea re dex response but am on a burst right now with the one day of IVIG from Monday I got and will get platelets retested tomorrow.
I am going to start CBD capsule 25mg tomorrow from a company CBDdistillary that I just found out a friend works at. I am just praying for some safe platelet stability. I hope my Dr. is agreeable to this plan.
I have been on 50mg of Promacta for 0ne month now and am upping to 75mg today for a 3 week trial.
Did I mention my wbc went down to 1.8 so Mayo dr said keep eye on them if they don't go up get a bone marrow bx to check for cancer. They went up to 3 so dr here said just wait and see if they stay stable and then no biopsy but my daughter wants me to get one to be cautious. Any experience on that?
The dr thinks if the Promacta doesn't work next stop is NPlate. If Nplate doesn't work and we get down the road to Rituxin that we would do a bx before that is started. Hopefully the CBD kicks in!!!!
I have been looking for a list of the best foods and drinks to eat and what to avoid. I am having trouble figuring out if coffee or tea is bad. I am pretty sure all liquor is bad even in cooked food. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Cindy
