A good summary article for those new to ITP was created by mbernardo430
Hi everyone,
As some of you already know, I am a newbie to the world of ITP. My husband has not been 'officially' diagnosed yet; however, the doctors believe there's a chance he has persistent ITP as they've eliminated other concerns such as leukemia, liver disease, etc. Anyway, I wanted to post a link to an article I came across while doing some reading. I thought it provided a good overview on ITP in general along with possible treatments. I'm sure others have probably already posted this, but in case those new to ITP need a quick read, here it is: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3410635/

Also, there's an article that was published very recently (May, 2017) that looked interesting regarding clinical updates on adult ITP. It's not an open journal, so I've requested it through my graduate library services. If there's anything useful in the article, I will be sure to post that as well!

Best,
Melissa

  • ITP since 2014. Retired nurse. My belief is empower patients to be involved as much as possible in their care. Read, read, read & ALWAYS question medics about the evidence base they use.
