I have just finished my infusion and my platelets are continuing to drop. Is this normal? How long does it take for the Retuxan to kick in?

My counts started to rise after the first 2. But it can take up to 9-12 weeks if it is going to work. Mine went from 20, 45, 75 and now 90.

It normally takes 4 to 12 weeks after the first infusion to start working. My counts were like this:

First Infusion - 8k
Second Infusion - 11k
Third Infusion - 3k
Fourth Infusion - 150k

By most standards, I had a pretty quick response.

My response to Rituxan followed the same patter as Sandi's response.

Diagnosed May 2005, lowest count 8K.
4/22/08: 43K (2nd Rituxan)
10/01/09: 246K, 1/8/10: 111K, 5/21/10: 233K
Latest count: 7/27/2015: 194K

They gave me IVIG first and then started Retuxan once a week for four weeks. IVIG elevated my platelets to 124 and then by the next week they were 84, followed by 55 and then 33 at the last infusion on this past Monday. I am bruising and gums bleeding some at this point. My Dr says give it time.
