My question is are any of you going my route by not taking medications to raise your platelets. I see no use since they just go up and down most of the time.

ITP patients on this forum seem to be becoming increasingly aware that the treatments - with all their risks and harmful side effects - are often worse than the low platelets they are treating. We see a good bit of only treating when symptoms appear, rather than treating low counts.

We do not see a lot of simply not treating at all, regardless of symptoms, but some ITPers can sustain some pretty low single-digit platelet counts without having symptoms they have to treat.

Are you ignoring bleeding symptoms, or are you just ignoring low platelet counts?
