Cbc count

So I had a cbc done yesterday and I get electronic results on my phone. When I checked this morning there was no record of my platelet count. I don't mean it said zero but there was not even a area for results to be recorded. Now I have this done every two weeks and have never had this happen. I will be calling my primary Doctor this morning because my hemo is out of office for two weeks. Just freaking out a bit and was wondering if this is a common occurrence.
Thanks

I don't know anything about electronic results on a phone. It's probably some kind of glitch or error in the transmission. Don't freak out, just call whoever usually orders the CBC and see if they have the results. Does your Hemo still have staff working in his office?

I get my Emory University lab results over the internet, but their system also works by phone. Sometimes a test result will trickle out later, and usually I don't know why, but I assume they needed to redo a test. Some people's platelets clump together in the tube, so they cannot be counted; if this happened, you will need to repeat the test using a different solution to keep the platelets from clumping. So don't freak out if they call you in to repeat the test.

I routinely see this happen with my mother's EHR, which I monitor for her as she goes through chemo. CBCs are important because she's had severe anemia along the way, but the CBCs often show up late or incomplete. So now I just get the results through an office assistant. I hope you can do the same.

As an aside, when my platelet counts goes below certain thresholds, the lab calls me immediately and insists I contact my doctors about it. In other words, an absence of information may well mean you have nothing to worry about.
