When I went to England and did not know what treatment I was going to be on, the local hospital said they would do the shots if my doctor worked it out in advance, dose etc. the bigger issue is cost not the ability to set it up, assuming you are going someplace with a healh care system you trust! Definately talk to the insurance company also! Good luck in whatever direction it all takes you.

Things can change for the better so fast sometimes. I wouldn't start worrying about next summer just yet. :)

Update.

I am still on 1 mug of Nplate on a weekly basis.
After the drop to 20s, it took 3 weeks to get back to 80,000 and then 73,000. I will be staying on this weekly 1 mcg dose until....well...at least for few months and then will try the biweekly one again to see if the count can be maintained without weekly shot.

I am off next 6 weeks from teaching. I will try to take my mind off of this platelet issue during the time.

Merry Christmas and Happy "Healthy" New Year to all the great people here!
